The Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), one of the autonomous organisations of the OSCE, organises several election observation missions in the OSCE region every year. Belgian observers also regularly take part in these missions. At the request of certain countries, FPS Foreign Affairs sends election observers working under the auspices of both the EU and the OSCE.
